When a player from the Maryland basketball team becomes a Florida State commit, the school gets a first look

Maryland has already added five players to the 2017 recruiting class.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Dezane was ranked as the nation’s No. 4-ranked player nationally in the 247Sports Composite.

He is committed to Maryland and will enroll early in 2018.

Dezanes brother, J.C., is a senior and defensive lineman for Maryland.

Marylands linebacker Jalen Jones, a 6-foot, 202-pound defensive end, is also a Maryland commit.

He also played at Maryland and the Maryland Fighting Illini.

Marylanders linebackers Zach Clements and Tyler Davis are also committed to the team.

Maryland also has committed five players this weekend to the 2018 class.

Maryies defensive end Trey Bledsoe, a 4-star recruit from South Carolina, committed to Miami (Fla.) earlier this week.
