LSU defensive coordinator Greg Schiano’s new job will pay him $4 million annually

The LSU defensive staff is getting a little richer as its new coach Greg Schiappa joins the Tigers after spending three seasons as defensive coordinator for Alabama.

LSU will pay Schiapps $4,086,637 annually, the school announced Thursday.

The Tigers also announced the hire of former Florida State defensive coordinator John Chavis, who was a member of the coaching staff at Alabama, and defensive backs coach Nick Allen, who played for the Crimson Tide.

LSU announced that it has hired former Auburn defensive coordinator Matt Campbell, who coached the Tigers from 2007-10.

LSU’s offensive coordinator, Joe Wickline, has been hired as the interim head coach.
